Awfully, if Proz still exists is because some people (not pros.) accept jobs at a minimum rate and I must assume their living is not based on translations. Perhaps, they are students who translate just as an alternative to dishwashing at weekends (sometimes dishwashing is better paid than some translations)...Moreover, it is absurd that such agencies pretend so many certifications and references just to pay a few quids. I am discouraged and depressed...I believe that not only Proz policies need to change but also websites such as Translators Cafe', Translators Base, etc. should be shut down.

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13457498450514062429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133004051461489303.post-34738843091714237862010-03-27T03:02:08.869-07:002010-03-27T03:02:08.869-07:00I wholeheartedly agree with the argument propounde...I wholeheartedly agree with the argument propounded here. ProZ is a useful resource, but I have become alarmed by the number of jobs offered at absurdly low rates.

By allowing outsourcers/clients to specify the rate they are prepared to pay or expect, translators are coerced into "underselling" their services.wheatley000https://www.blogger.com/profile/00705154395405446301noreply@blogger.com
